Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped small
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 slice of bread, torn into small pieces
- 1 - egg
- - oil or crisco, for browning
- 2 jars beef or mushroom gravy
How To Make salisbury steak

Step 1Mix beef, onion, salt, pepper, sugar, bread and egg into a bowl until combined. Form football shaped patties from the mixture - I can usually get 4-5 patties that are decent sized.

Step 2Heat oil (or Crisco) in a frying pan and brown patties on both sides. Transfer patties onto a plate once browned, drain the oil, then return patties back to the pan. Add gravy.

Step 3Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
