How to Make Salisbury Steak
- Mix beef, onion, salt, pepper, sugar, bread and egg into a bowl until combined. Form football shaped patties from the mixture - I can usually get 4-5 patties that are decent sized.
- Heat oil (or Crisco) in a frying pan and brown patties on both sides. Transfer patties onto a plate once browned, drain the oil, then return patties back to the pan. Add gravy.
- Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
