This recipe actually passed the picky husband test. We had a package of beef patties in the freezer and some onion soup mix and gravy mix, so I just threw this together and he actually liked it - so did the kids. No leftovers is a good thing!

Ingredients

  • 8 1/4 pound beef patties
  • 2 packages lipton onion soup mix
  • 2 packages pioneer brown gravy mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons worcetershire
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons pepper
  • 2 tablespoons season all
  • 2 tablespoons morton's nature seasoning salt
  • 2 tablespoons oil

How To Make salisbury steak

  • Step 1
    Mix egg and 2 Tbsp Worcetershire in a bowl.
  • Step 2
    Mix Flour, Pepper and Seasonings in another bowl. Crush one package of onion soup mix and add to the flour mixture.
  • Step 3
    Heat oil in large frying pan.
  • Step 4
    Dredge each beef patty first in egg mix then flour mix. Fry in oil until almost done.
  • Step 5
    Combine one cup cold water with both packages Pioneer Gravy Mix in a bowl. Boil 3 cups of water in pot on stove. Add one package of onion soup mix. Stir in the Gravy mix. Add 1 Tbsp worcetershire to the gravy. Stir until smooth.
  • Step 6
    In a 13 x 9 glass dish, pour ½ of the gravy. Layer the beef patties on the gravy and pour the remaining gravy on top. Bake 30 minutes at 350.
