When we were kids, on our birthday we got to have what ever we wanted for dinner and this was one of my favorites. I hope you will enjoy it also!

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 3/4 package lipton onion soup mix
- 1 - egg-beaten
- 1/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
- - salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large onion, sliced into rings
- 8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms, or can.
- 2 1/2 teaspoons beef base
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup flour seasoned with alittle onion powder, salt and black pepper
- - olive oil for browning
How To Make salisbury steak

Step 1Preheat oven 325. In a bowl, mix by hand the ground beef,soup mix, egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and milk. In a skillet add some olive oil to pan, then turn on med. heat. Take the meat mixture form into oblong patties, make 4-6 patties. Now coat each pattie with the flour mixture on all sides and brown on each side in the skillet a couple patties at a time, adding more olive oil as need. Put each pattie in a greased baking pan after they are nicely brown. Now add sliced onions and mushrooms to pan cook until soft, Add beef base and water to make a nice gravy, add to beef patties, cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Great served with mashed potatoes and fresh green peas!!!!
