runza cassarole
(1 RATING)
i hope it is ok to use the name Runza on this. everyone in Nebraska knows that this is a famous fast food restaurant that originated in Lincoln in the 50s, but there are home style variations of their product, and this is one of them. if you ever visit Nebraska don't, don't leave without experiencing the real thing. they are unique and delicious.

- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 1/2 pounds mozzarella cheese, shredded
How To Make runza cassarole
-
Step 1Brown hamburger and onion; drain. Layer the cabbage on top of the meat for a few minutes, add the salt and pepper.
-
Step 2Spread 1 package of crescent rolls over the bottom of a lightly greased 9x13 pan. Spread the hamburger/cabbage mixture over. Add layer of cheese. (I add a layer of American cheese slices on top of the mozzarella for added flavor.)
-
Step 3Bake at 350* for 35 to 40 minutes, covering with foil the last 10 minutes to soften the crust.
