flour
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
pepper
3 Tbsp
vegetable oil
3 Tbsp
flour
1 large
onion, sliced

tomatoes, chopped
2 c
water
1 Tbsp
cider vinegar
1 Tbsp
parsley flakes

How to Make Round Steak Smothered In Gravy

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix flour, salt and pepper in plastic bag.
  • 2Add round steak pieces to flour mixture and shake.
  • 3Brown meat in oil over medium-high heat.
  • 4Remove meat from skillet.
  • 5Add 3 tablespoons flour to pan drippings and stir constantly until flour browns.
  • 6Stirring constantly, slowly add water until gravy thickens.
  • 7Add onions, tomatoes, vinegar and parsley.
  • 8Return meat to pan, cover and simmer 1 hour or until tender.
