For those of you who want potatoes and carrots,these can be added. However, you will not have enough broth to also prepare the rice.
How to Make Roda's Slow Cooked Beef Roast with Rice on the Side Dinner
- 1Season roast with seasoning and set aside for a short while.
- 2Slice onion and place in bottom of slow cooker. Place seasoned roast on top of onions.
- 3Mix together Worcestershire sauce, coffee, and bourbon. Pour over roast. Cook on high for 4 hours. Serve the roast with some of the broth on the side for dipping, if desired.
If you wish to prepare rice as an accompaniment; when roast is finished cooking, remove 1 cup of the broth (there will still be plenty left for dipping). Prepare brown Minute Rice (serving for 2) according to package directions using the broth in place of the water and adding a can of salt-free diced tomatoes with garlic and onion (drained).
