This is a flavorful dish that I like to make for friends as well as family. I like to serve the roast with mashed or scalloped potatoes and green peas. If you like,you can thicken the juices to make gravy.

Ingredients

  • - 4 lbs boneless chuck roast beef
  • - 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • - 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
  • - 2-3 onions,sliced
  • - 3 garlic cloves,chopped
  • - 2 bay leaves
  • - 1 can mushroom soup
  • - 1/4 c beef broth
  • - 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce

How To Make roast beef

  • Step 1
    Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Rub the meat with pepper,garlic powder and beef granules. Heat the oil in a large skillet and brown the roast, searing it on both sides. Place the meat in a roaster pan. Cover with onions, garlic and bay leaves. Combine the mushroom soup, beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, and half a soup can of water, and pout over the meat. Cover and bake for 2-2 1/2 hours, or until tender. Remove and discard the bay leaves. Pour the meat juices into a saucepan. Bring it to a boil and reduce by half Slice meat,Serve juice with meat.
