Had this recipe since high school. We made it in Home Economics and it was a hit. Been making it ever since for holidays or special events and it's always a favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup instant rice
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup or cream of mushroom
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package cheddar cheese, shredded
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make rice and beef casserole

  • Step 1
    Follow directions on Instant Rice box in order to cook 1 cup instant rice. Set aside and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • Step 2
    Brown meat until done. Drain. Add one can of cream or chicken soup or one can of cream of mushroom soup. Stir together until meat is well coated.
  • Step 3
    In a 13x9 casserole dish pour rice in dish. Spoon meat onto rice making sure you cover rice. Add cheese to top making sure you cover meat.
  • Step 4
    Place in 350 degree pre-heated oven until cheese is melted.
