I was thinking of making a meatloaf but I had to use up my cabbage so I made this instead. This can be easily done on the stovetop too.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1/2 pound bulk italian sausage
- 1 - onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 - bay leaves
- 4 - white pototoes
- 1 small cabbage
- 4-6 - pickles
- 1 can beef broth
- 1 cup water
How To Make rhineland casserole(in the crockpot)

Step 1Brown hamburger and sausage together, place in crockpot. (Remove some of the grease if too much)

Step 2Cut onion into fairly large slices and place on the meat.

Step 3Add spices. Pour broth over all. Add water.

Step 4Cut potatoes into thick slices and place over onions.

Step 5Cook on High for 2 hours. Or until potatoes are done.

Step 6Add pickles(cut in half or thirds) and cabbage(cut in wedges)

Step 7Cook til cabbage is to your liking. 20 mins to 45mins.
