sauerkraut, canned and drained
8 slice
swiss cheese
8 slice
corned beef
8 slice
rye bread
1/2 c
thousand island dressing

How to Make Reuben Sandwich


  • 1Preheat a large skillet or griddle on medium heat.
  • 2Lightly butter one side of bread slices.
  • 3Spread non-buttered sides with thousand island dressing.
  • 4On 4 bread slices, layer 1 slice Swiss cheese, 2 slices corned beef, 1/4 cup sauerkraut and second slice of Swiss cheese.
  • 5Top with remaining bread slices, buttered sides out.
  • 6Grill sandwiches until both sides are golden brown, about 15 minutes per side. Serve hot.
