Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 4-8 tablespoons sauerkraut, rinsed, drained
  • 4 slices swiss cheese
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 4 tablespoons russian dressing

How To Make reuben burgers

  • Step 1
    Mix beef, onion and ground pepper together and form 4 patties of equal size about 3/4" thick.
  • Step 2
    Grill or broil, 4" from souce of heat, for 3 minutes on each side for medium-rear.
  • Step 3
    Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of sauerkraut on the center of each patty and top with one 1 ounce slice of swiss cheese.
  • Step 4
    Grill for 1 to 2 minutes, until the cheese melts.
  • Step 5
    Serve each patty open-face on a slice of toasted or grilled rye bread.
  • Step 6
    Top each serving with 1 tablespoon of russian dressing.
