Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    extra lean ground beef
  • 1 small
    onion, minced
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground pepper
  • 4-8 Tbsp
    sauerkraut, rinsed, drained
  • 4 slice
    swiss cheese
  • 4 slice
    rye bread
  • 4 Tbsp
    russian dressing

How to Make Reuben Burgers

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix beef, onion and ground pepper together and form 4 patties of equal size about 3/4" thick.
  2. Grill or broil, 4" from souce of heat, for 3 minutes on each side for medium-rear.
  3. Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of sauerkraut on the center of each patty and top with one 1 ounce slice of swiss cheese.
  4. Grill for 1 to 2 minutes, until the cheese melts.
  5. Serve each patty open-face on a slice of toasted or grilled rye bread.
  6. Top each serving with 1 tablespoon of russian dressing.
