Rene's Easy Peasy Chili

Good chili in less than one hour, or brown meat first and add to your crockpot, then add all other ingredients. Cook on low 4-6 hours. Great potluck dish! No table salt needed, since the canned goods provide enough.

1 lb
very lean hamburger or ground turkey
1 c
chopped yellow onion
3/4 c
seeded green pepper, chopped
2 clove
garlic, chopped or minced
30 oz
canned cut tomatoes with juice
15 oz
canned red chili beans in chili sauce
15 oz
canned black beans in sauce
1/2 c
chili powder


1In a 10 inch, teflon pan on medium high heat, cook ground hamburger or turkey, onions, green pepper, and garlic until meat is browned. Siphon off grease.
2Add both cans of beans to meat mixture and mix thoroughly. Next, add the chili powder. Mix well.
3Bring chili to boil, then cover and turn heat down to low. Simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occassionally. Serve with your favorite corn muffins. Feeds 4-6 people.
