  • 1 Tbsp
    extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/4 lb
    ground sirloin
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    weber mesquate marinade mix or any steak seasoning blend
  • 1
    medium onion chopped
  • 1
    green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 4
    crusty bread or rolls

How to Make Real sloppy Joes


  1. heat large skillet over medium heat. add oil and meat to pan. break up the meat. combine brown sugar and steak seasoning. add sugar and spice mixture to skillet and combine.
  2. when the meat has browned, add onion and red peppers to skillet. reduce heat to medium and cook onions,peppers,red wine vinegar and worcestershire sauce with meat for about five minutes.
  3. add tomato sauce and paste to skillet, stir to combine. reduce heat to simmer and cook sloppy joe mixture 5 more minutes.
  4. pile sloppy joe mixture on toasted rolls.
