Ingredients
- 3/4 pound hamburger; lean
- 3 medium potatoes; sliced
- 3 medium carrots; sliced
- 1/2 cup rice, instant and uncooked
- 1 medium onion; sliced
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs, buttered
- 2 cups tomatoes, canned italian style with juice
How To Make quick hamburger casserole
-
Step 1Brown 3/4 pound; lean hamburger in skillet.( Note; when I brown my hamburger, I add enough water to cover the meat and boil it in the skillet. Once it is brown, I drain the liquid off, much more healthier this way.) First; slice 3 medium potatoes, place in bottom of greased baking dish. Salt and pepper to taste. Slice 3 medium carrots; place these over potatoes. Salt and pepper. Sprinkle 1/2 cup uncooked rice over the carrots. Spread the drained hamburger evenly over the rice. Slice one medium onion over the hamburger. Pour 2 cups tomatoes over hamburger; with juice. Cover top with the mozzarella cheese and lastly spread the buttered crumb tops on top layer.
-
Step 2Bake @ 350 degrees for one hour. *You can always add more bread crumbs and more cheese than recipe calls for if you like.
