Ingredients

- - 1 lb. ground round
- - 1 large onion, chopped
- - 1 t. chili powder
- - 1/2 t. ground cumin
- - 1 t. salt
- - 1/3 cup dry red wine
- - 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
- - 1 green pepper, halved, seeded and diced
- - 4 cups shredded lettuce
- - 1 avocado, peeled, pitted and sliced
- - 4 green onions, sliced
How To Make quick chili con carne, california style

Step 1Heat oil in large skillet. Add beef and onion. Cook and stir often until meat browns slightly.

Step 2Stir in chili powder, cumin and salt. Add wine, tomato sauce and green pepper.

Step 3Cook stirring often, 5 minutes. To serve, arrange lettuce and avocado on dinner plates. Spoon hot chili over evenly. Sprinkle with green onions; serve with hot tortillas or corn bread.
