Queso Steak Sandwich

Lynda Hayes

This is a velveeta cheddar cheese steak sandwich with some flavor. Some make it with cheez whiz, but I love melted velveeta cheese on mine. It takes only 20 minutes at the most to make for dinner using the steak-umms. I like mine with mushrooms, which you can omit. This can also be served on a platter as an appetizer at parties, just slice the hoagie up into small slices and put in a toothpick and serve. Yumm-o!

1 tsp
garlic powder (optional)
1/2 c

1Heat up a large skillet or griddle. When hot, add oil, green pepper, onions, mushrooms, Cook for 5-6 minutes until onions start to turn golden. Add salt, pepper, garlic, garlic powder. Push mixture to side of pan. Add steak slices to hot griddle. Break apart and cook until no longer pink. Mix together with vegetables.
2In a bowl, take cubed velveeta cheese, 1/2 can rotel and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes until melted. Mix until well combined.
3Take rolls and open all the way. Spread some of velveeta/rotel on bottom. Add steak, onion, peppers, mushrooms on top. Add more velveeta rotel mixture to cover steak. Close bun and cut in half. Serve while hot!

Variation: Cut hoagie into small individual slices and insert a toothpick and serve on a platter for appetizers.
