soft bread crumbs
1/2 c
grated onion
1 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
ground allspice
1/4 tsp
pepper
1 lb
ground beef
1 Tbsp
cornstarch
1 can(s)
condensed beef consomme

How to Make Potluck Meatballs

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients; add beef and mix well.
  • 2Shape into 1 1/4-inch balls.
  • 3In a skillet over medium heat, brown meatballs; drain.
  • 4Transfer to a greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  • 5Combine the cornstarch and the consomme until smooth; add to skillet.
  • 6Bring to a boil, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan.
  • 7Boil for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • 8Pour over the meatballs.
  • 9Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until no longer pink.
