This is true comfort food! My mother-in-law told me about this almost 20 years ago and I haven't made pot roast any other way since then! We love it.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Pot roast has long been a Sunday tradition in my house, and this recipe brought back so many fond memories. It has all the makings of a real, old-fashioned homey dish... made extra tender by the use of diet Coke! Savory and satisfying, this is a definite must-try. The Test Kitchen

How to Make Pot Roast

Step-by-Step

  1. First I put the meat in the roaster or crockpot. Bouillon cubes beside the meat, pour the cola over all, sprinkle the soup mix on top of the meat.
  2. Then I layer the vegetables all around the meat. Cover & bake slowly for several hours. This makes the best gravy in the world. Enjoy!
