This casserole was a big hit with my family. You can basically add whatever 'toppings' you want. I got this recipe from a website called Heavenlyhomemakers.com

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, minced or 2 tbsp dry minced
  • 2 cups pizza sauce (recipe follows)
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 ounces pasta, any shape you desire
  • 4 ounces sliced & chopped pepperoni
  • 1 cup or more shredded cheese of choice
  • 1 cup sliced black olives, opt
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms, opt
  • 1 - green pepper, diced, opt
  • PIZZA SAUCE
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dry basil
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

How To Make pizza casserole

  • Step 1
    Brown hamburger meat & onion in a large pot until done
  • Step 2
    Add the pizza sauce & water into the pot.
  • Step 3
    Bring this to a boil, then stir in the pot. Season with salt, if needed.
  • Step 4
    Boil, stirring often, until pasta is tender
  • Step 5
    Stir in ‘toppings‘ chosen (except cheese).
  • Step 6
    Pour into a greased 9x13
  • Step 7
    Cover with foil & bake at 350’ for about 30 minutes
  • Step 8
    Remove foil, add the cheese & bake 15-20 more minutes. At this point you could arrange pepperoni slices to top of casserole for a nice presentation.
