Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    hamburger must be 80/20 or better (can also use ground turkey)
  • 1/4 c
    tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c
    raisins
  • 1/2 c
    chopped green pepper (bell pepper)
  • 2 pinch
    oregano, dried
  • 1
    whole bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • 1
    medium spanish onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 c
    green sliced olives
  • 1
    medium tomato (chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp
    powered garlic or 2 cloves (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp
    oiive oil
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • ·
    black beans to top your picadillo
  • 1 can(s)
    black beans
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1/2
    sliced green pepper
  • 1/2
    spanish onion sliced (like onion rings look)
  • 1/2 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic minced

How to Make PICADILLO AND BLACK BEANS

Step-by-Step

  1. Dice up onion, green pepper,and tomato's put in pan with 1 Tablespoon olive oil. when tender, add oregano,cumin tomato sauce bay leaf and stir well.
  2. Put heat on high and add hamburger as meat browns add raisins,olives,and cook until meat is done,(DO NOT STOP STIRRING)
  3. When meat is cooked add vineger. I serve mine with white rice and black beans.
