I don't know if this is the way they do it in Philly, but this is how I do it.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Yum! With slices of steak, gooey cheese, caramelized onions and a hint of heat, this is my type of sandwich. Make sure to have a few napkins handy cause eating this may get a bit messy. Typically topped with Cheese Whiz or provolone, I like the addition of Swiss on this sandwich. It adds a nutty flavor. Make sure to melt the cheese ... it completes the sandwich. So good! How to Make Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

Step-by-Step

  • 1Sliced beef thin, about 1/2 inch wide and 1/4 thick. This is easier to do if it's partially frozen.
  • 2Sliced onion in half, then sliced the halves.
  • 3Add seasonings and garlic to your beef and mix well
  • 4Cook beef for 15 minutes or until brown, then add onions.
  • 5Don't over cook the onions, cook another 5 minutes.
  • 6Add your meat to the bun, top with cheese. You may want to microwave for about 30-45 seconds to melt the cheese. Enjoy!!
