philly cheesesteak sandwich
I don't know if this is the way they do it in Philly, but this is how I do it.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
With steak, gooey cheese, caramelized onions, and a hint of heat, this is a great cheesesteak sandwich. Partially freezing the beef before slicing is a great tip. It helps to slice the beef very thin. Once sauteed with onions, the meat is flavorful and juicy. On top, the Swiss cheese gets nice and melty. While not the traditional cheese, it's super tasty. This is an easy way to make a delicious cheesesteak.

How To Make philly cheesesteak sandwich
Test Kitchen Tips
Instead of placing the sandwich in the microwave, we put ours under the broiler to melt the cheese.
-
Step 1Sliced beef thin, about 1/2 inch wide and 1/4 thick. This is easier to do if it's partially frozen.
-
Step 2Sliced onion in half, then sliced the halves.
-
Step 3Add seasonings and garlic to your beef and mix well.
-
Step 4Cook beef for 15 minutes or until brown. Then add onions.
-
Step 5Don't overcook the onions, cook for another 5 minutes.
-
Step 6Add your meat to the bun and top with cheese.
-
Step 7You may want to microwave for about 30-45 seconds to melt the cheese. Enjoy!!
