patio taco burgers (summer or winter)

This started when I was about 16 yrs old, Its 50 + yrs old. I once worked in a fast food Mexican Cafe and This was my favorite sandwich then, and still is today, but they no-longer serve this on their menu. So I have to make my own today. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Makes for a great Summer meal or Anytime you have the taste for a little Mexican flavors.. . .That's Simply Super EASY to put together.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, browned & drained
  • 1 package lawrys taco seasoning, added to drained beef
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 - small diced onion
  • 1 package hamburger buns
  • 2-3 cups shredded lettuce
  • 2 cups grated coby jack cheese or mexican blend cheese
  • 1 can small can sliced black olives
  • 2 - diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups picate sauce or taco sauce
  • 1 can refried beans heated and set aside

How To Make patio taco burgers (summer or winter)

  • Step 1
    Heat Refried beans and set aside. (Can season to taste)
  • Step 2
    Brown Ground beef. Drain off any fat. ADD: Taco seasoning. Add: Diced Onions ADD: water, Simmer till water is almost gone.
  • Step 3
    Heat Hamburger Buns in Oven only till just warm. To Serve: Top one 1/2 bun with scoop of Burger-mix, Lettuce, Tomato's, Cheese, Olives, & Salsa, Place other top on and enjoy.
  • Step 4
    Serve the refried beans as a side along with your sandwich, topped with a little Cheese, & olives or Diced Green Onions.
  • Step 5
    Optional: Add More Diced Onions chopped with a few Green onions added to Burgers, as garnish, for Onion Lovers. Optional: Add a little Sour Cream to your burgers.
