Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    boneless beef sirloin steak
  • 1 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 2 c
    fresh mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 c
    canned beef broth

How to Make Pan Seared Steak With Mushroom Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. cut beef into serving pieces, slice mushrooms
  2. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the steaks in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 4 -5 minutes each side for medium rare.
  4. Remove the steaks from the skillet. Do not pour off any fat.
  5. Heat the butter in the skillet. Add the mushrooms and cook until tender
  6. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in the stock. Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens.
  7. Serve the mushroom sauce with the steaks.
