Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cups fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup canned beef broth

How To Make pan seared steak with mushroom sauce

  • Step 1
    cut beef into serving pieces, slice mushrooms
  • Step 2
    Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Step 3
    Cook the steaks in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 4 -5 minutes each side for medium rare.
  • Step 4
    Remove the steaks from the skillet. Do not pour off any fat.
  • Step 5
    Heat the butter in the skillet. Add the mushrooms and cook until tender
  • Step 6
    Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in the stock. Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens.
  • Step 7
    Serve the mushroom sauce with the steaks.
