oven style beef stew

I scored a package of beef stew chunks that were marked down almost half price at a local grocery store so I started looking for beef stew recipes. I found a couple on Pinterest but I didn't like all the ingredients that each called for so I decided to take two recipes and make one. The outcome was delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef stew chunks
  • 5-6 - small to medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 inch chunks
  • 5 - carrots, peeled and cut into 1 inch rounds
  • 1 can 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 package brown gravy mix
  • 1 package lipton beefy onion soup mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can 4 oz sliced mushrooms, drained
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make oven style beef stew

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a 13 x 9 baking dish, add your potato chunks followed by the carrots. Place your beef stew chunks on top of your veggies. Make sure you have them spread out enough to cover.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, mix together your soup, gravy mix, soup mix, and water. Mix until smooth. Pour mixture over meat and veggies.
  • Step 3
    Add can of mushrooms on top. Stir until coated. Sprinkle salt and pepper all over top. Stir until combined. Cover with aluminium foil. Place in oven and bake for 3 hours.
