Marinade the beef strips before cooking to make tender. Marinade in vinegar and lime juice for 4 hours before cooking. Drain and discard marinade......just a thought.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 c
    reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated orange peel
  • 3/4 lb
    beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 3 c
    fresh green beans
  • 2 Tbsp
    water

How to Make Orange Beef and Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, ginger and pepper. Stir in the soy sauce and orange juice until smooth; set aside.
  2. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine sugar and orange peel; add beef. Seal bag; toss to coat.
  3. In a large nonstick skillet, stir fry beef in oil for 5 minutes or until browned.
  4. In a microwave safe dish, cover and cook beans in water for 3-5 minutes on high; drain. Add beans to skillet; cook, stirring constantly, until tender. Stir the orange juice mixture; stir into skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
