Great simple supper but fancy enough for company too!! Serve with a tossed salad and your favorite red wine.

Ingredients

  • 1or 2 - carrots diced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 ounces ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 3-4 tablespoons butter
  • 7 ounces dry red wine
  • 5 ounces beef stock or bouillion
  • 2 tablespoons canned tomato paste
  • 1-2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 4 - 4 oz ground round beef patties
  • 4 1/8 - slices french bread, sauteed in butter til browned

How To Make open face hamburger with wine sauce

  • Step 1
    saute first 5 ingredients in butter over low heat for 10 mins. Add wine, stock and tomato paste. Simmer for 10 mins. Dissolve cornstarch in2 tblsp water and add to above mixture to thicken. Place cooked beef patties on top of sauteed french bread slices and top with sauce.
