old school beef stroganoff
I've been using this beef stroganoff recipe since high school. So, ummm, yeah, a looooong time. In the south we serve it over rice, elsewhere egg noodles are common. Either way, it's delicious.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds london broil
- 1/2 cup flour
- - salt and pepper
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 4 ounces can mushrooms
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 1 cup sour cream
- - cooked rice
How To Make old school beef stroganoff

Step 1Cut meat into 1 inch cubes.

Step 2Drain mushrooms into measuring cup and add enough water to make 2 cups.

Step 3Heat oil in large skillet.

Step 4Salt and pepper meat and dredge in flour.

Step 5Brown in oil in batches.

Step 6Add onion and saute until translucent. Add all meat back to pan.

Step 7Add water mixture and tomato juice to pan. Cover and simmer until tender, about 1.5 hours.

Step 8Stir in mushrooms and sour cream and heat through.

Step 9Serve over rice. Rice is a southern tradition, you can substitute egg noodles.
