One of the many ways I like to do chili. Always a family favorite in my house. Plus to if I realy plan ahead I makeit in my crock pot.

vegetable oil
2 medium
onions, chopped
1 medium
green bell pepper, chopped
cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 lb
lean ground beef
1 can(s)
whole peeled tomatoes in tomato sauce cut up
1 can(s)
red kidney beans, drained
1 can(s)
beef broth
2 Tbsp
chili powder
2 tsp
oregano, dried
1 tsp
1 tsp
ground cumin
1/2 tsp
red pepper, crushed
1 can(s)
tomatoe paste
6 c
rice, cooked and hot
1 c
cheddar cheese, shredded
1 c
sour cream

How to Make Nothing Easier then chili con Carne


  • 1Heat the oil in a 6 qt. saucepot over medium-high heat.Add in the onions, green peppers & garlic. Cook & stir for about 5 minsor until veggies are tender. Add in the meat cook & stir 5 mins longer.
  • 2Add in the tomatoes with the liquid,the beans tomatoe paste & seasonings.Bring to a boil.Reduce the heat to low. Simmer kind of covered for about 1 hour or until the chili has thickened. Stirring occasionally.
  • 3Serve hot over the rice. Top with the cheese & sour cream.
