My mother-in-law originally gave me this recipe and I have made a couple of changes. This is miles above the ordinary chipped beef on toast.

- 2 packages chopped, smoked, pressed beef

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- dash black pepper
- 1 medium green bell pepper

How To Make new & improved sos
-
Step 1Chop the bell pepper into small pieces and saute in a large skillet with 4 Tbsp. butter.
-
Step 2Cut the chipped beef into small, bite-size pieces and add to peppers. Cook until hot and the peppers are translucent, stirring to break up pieces of beef.

Step 3Stir in the flour until a thick paste forms and add remaining 2 Tbsp. of butter. Gradually stir in milk or half n half.
-
Step 4When mixture begins to bubble, add the creamed corn and the cheese. Mix well and simmer about 5 minutes over low heat.
