Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 medium
    onion
  • 1 1/2 jar(s)
    spaghetti sauce (with veggies)
  • 1
    green pepper chopped
  • 2 pkg
    cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic salt, or to taste
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 box
    pasta (rotini)

How to Make My Mothers' One Pan Cheesy/Beef Dinner

Step-by-Step

  1. Boil pasta in separate saucepan.
In large saucepan, saute chopped onions, garlic salt and green pepper in Olive Oil. Add ground beef and cover. Let simmer and cook until beef is all the way cooked, about 15 minutes. This lets the flavors of the onions and pepper mix in. Uncover and mix in spaghetti sauce, and 2 T of sugar. Cover and let simmer for at least 30 minutes. Add cooked pasta and recover and let simmer on medium 10 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle all the cheese on top of the mixture. Simmer on Medium heat for another 10 minutes or until cheese has just melted.
