After years of mixing and making meatloaf, I came up with this recipe!! I always get wonderful comments when I serve this!!

Ingredients

  • 1 package meat loaf mix (ground beef, pork, veal
  • 1 package lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon basil, dried
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3-4 slices bacon cut in half

How To Make my meatloaf

  • Step 1
    Place all the ingredients except bacon in large bowl and mix together. Try not to handle it too much or it will cause it to be too tough. Place in a 13 x 9 baking dish and form into a loaf shape. Make a indentation down the middle. Put strips of bacon on top then add the ketchup sauce. (see recipe below) bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Enjoy
  • Step 2
    1 small bottle of ketchup, 1/2 cup brown sugar. Mix together until all the brown sugar is blended in! Put on top of meatloaf in the well that you made and over the bacon in the well. Enjoy!! Great for a meatloaf sandwich the next day!!
