I heard this recipe on a radio show many years ago and make this for St. Patrick's day-and more often-ever since. If there are any leftovers, it makes great sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 1 5-7 pounds corned beef brisket
  • 6 - peppercorns
  • 4 - whole cloves
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard

How To Make my kids' favorite sweet & sour glazed corned beef

  • Step 1
    Place brisket in large pot. Cover with water and add peppercorns and cloves. Simmer 4 - 5 hours.
  • Step 2
    Remove brisket from water and place in a baking dish.
  • Step 3
    Combine remaining ingredients and stir in a small sauce pan until blended and bubbly.
  • Step 4
    Slather the entire brisket with the sauce and bake in a 350 oven for about 30 minutes, basting with remaining sauce several times.
