ground beef/sirloin
16 oz
tomato paste
1-2 large can(s)
tomato juice
stacks saltine crackers crushed
1 large
onion chopped
1 large
bell pepper chopped
1-2 c
instant oatmeal
1 large bottle

How to Make My Grandmother's Meatloaf


  • 1Heat oven to 350.
    Combine ground beef, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, eggs and tomato paste. Mix well with hand.
  • 2Add crushed crackers and oatmeal a little at a time. If too dry, add some tomato juice. Continue to mix.
  • 3Form into 1-2 loaves and place in a deep pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 4Squirt Ketchup fairly heavily over top and sides and spread evenly.
  • 5Pour remaining tomato juice around loaves.

    Carefully place pan in oven and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 30 min.
