mushroom sauce round steak

Due to the cut of beef, be sure to tenderize this steak first. I just use a very mild italian dressing as a marinade overnight in the fridge, or a powdered form of tenderizer. Either way, this is a good dish to serve over brown rice and a side dish of your favorite green vegetable.

Ingredients
- - flour for dredging
- 2 pounds tenderized round steak
- 1 pound whole small mushrooms (portable babies are good)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
How To Make mushroom sauce round steak

Step 1Dip steak into flour on both sides while heating butter and oil in a heavy skillet,

Step 2Saute steak until rare, remove and keep warm.

Step 3Saute all remaining ingredients until tender. Mix cornstarch in a cup with 1/2 cup of ice cold water. Stir to mix completely.

Step 4Add steak back to skillet just to reheat.
