Due to the cut of beef, be sure to tenderize this steak first. I just use a very mild italian dressing as a marinade overnight in the fridge, or a powdered form of tenderizer. Either way, this is a good dish to serve over brown rice and a side dish of your favorite green vegetable.

Ingredients

  • - flour for dredging
  • 2 pounds tenderized round steak
  • 1 pound whole small mushrooms (portable babies are good)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

How To Make mushroom sauce round steak

  • Step 1
    Dip steak into flour on both sides while heating butter and oil in a heavy skillet,
  • Step 2
    Saute steak until rare, remove and keep warm.
  • Step 3
    Saute all remaining ingredients until tender. Mix cornstarch in a cup with 1/2 cup of ice cold water. Stir to mix completely.
  • Step 4
    Add steak back to skillet just to reheat.
