My girlfriend gave me this recipe. It feeds her family of 6 without any trouble. You can adjust the heat by increasing or decreasing the red pepper.

Ingredients

MARINATE

2 lb
round steak, thin cut
2 Tbsp
soy sauce
2 Tbsp
corn starch
4 clove
garlic, minced

SAUCE

1 1/2 c
water
4 Tbsp
soy sauce
5 tsp
corn starch
1 tsp
sugar
2 tsp
red pepper flakes

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS

2
medium white onions, wedge sliced
2 bunch
green onions, chopped
4 Tbsp
oil, divided in half

SERVE WITH:

rice (white or brown)
or
lo mein noodles

How to Make Mongolian Beef

Step-by-Step

  • 1PREP: Cut round steak into thin slices (about 1/8 inch thick). Dice green onions into 1/2 inch pieces. Wedge cut white onions into 1/4 inch thick wedges.
  • 2MARINATE: Mix soy sauce, cornstarch, and garlic in large bowl. Add beef and mix until beef is well covered. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • 3SAUCE: In separate bowl, mix ingredients for sauce and set aside.
  • 4Heat 2 tablespoons of oil over high heat. Add marinated beef. Cook for 1-3 minutes. Remove from heat and return to bowl.
  • 5Heat remaining 2 tablespoons of oil. Add white and green onions. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • 6Stir in cooked beef & sauce. Cook until sauce boils and thickens.
  • 7Serve with rice or lo mein noodles.
