My girlfriend gave me this recipe. It feeds her family of 6 without any trouble. You can adjust the heat by increasing or decreasing the red pepper.

Ingredients

  • MARINATE
  • 2 pounds round steak, thin cut
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • SAUCE
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 5 teaspoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS
  • 2 - medium white onions, wedge sliced
  • 2 bunches green onions, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons oil, divided in half
  • SERVE WITH:
  • - rice (white or brown)
  • - or
  • - lo mein noodles

How To Make mongolian beef

  • Step 1
    PREP: Cut round steak into thin slices (about 1/8 inch thick). Dice green onions into 1/2 inch pieces. Wedge cut white onions into 1/4 inch thick wedges.
  • Step 2
    MARINATE: Mix soy sauce, cornstarch, and garlic in large bowl. Add beef and mix until beef is well covered. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    SAUCE: In separate bowl, mix ingredients for sauce and set aside.
  • Step 4
    Heat 2 tablespoons of oil over high heat. Add marinated beef. Cook for 1-3 minutes. Remove from heat and return to bowl.
  • Step 5
    Heat remaining 2 tablespoons of oil. Add white and green onions. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Stir in cooked beef & sauce. Cook until sauce boils and thickens.
  • Step 7
    Serve with rice or lo mein noodles.
