Ingredients
- FOR THE MEAT
- 1 pound flank steak
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 cup corn starch\
- FOR THE SAUCE
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons garlic
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
How To Make mongolian beef
-
Step 1Cut the flank steak against the grain into thick bite-size pieces
-
Step 2mix the cornstarch, and hoisin sauce together and coat the steak. I found it easiest to put the steak into a plastic bag or a bowl so its easier to get everything coated! let that sit for about 20 minutes
-
Step 3While you are letting the steak sit you want to get started on the sauce. Start by heating up the tsp of vegetable oil in a non stick pan or wok and add the ginger and garlic to it.
-
Step 4before you can let it scorch add the soy sauce water and brown sugar. Bring it to a boil so that the brown sugar devolves then bring the temp down to low.
-
Step 5In another pan heat up the other 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil and add the steak, let it simmer for about 10 minutes until it starts to get golden brown
-
Step 6Add the sauce to the pan and cook for another 10-15 minutes and serve. We eat ours with green beans and rice! :)
