  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 c
    cheese, grated
  • 12 oz
    tortilla chips, baked
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic salt
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper

How to Make Mom's Taco Casserole


  1. Saute meat in skillet.
  2. Add taco seasoning mix, spices, tomato sauce and water.
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered 15 minutes.
  4. Add tortilla chips, mix, being careful not to break chips.
  5. Pour into a 2 inch deep by 8-inch round or square baking disk.
  6. Bake in 400 oven for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Top with cheese, bake a little longer if desired.
