mom's saged meatloaf

This was my mother's recipe. I remember her making it a pressure cooker, I use a loaf pan or casserole dish and bake mine. This recipe has won over many a meatloaf hater! I think it's the sage.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon rubbed sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8-12 ounces tomato sauce
- 1-11/2 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 - carrot, finely shredded (optional)
- 1/2 - green pepper, finely minced (optional)
How To Make mom's saged meatloaf

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 350.

Step 2In large bowl, thoroughly combine beef, salt, pepper, sage, onion, egg, carrot, green pepper,oats and 1/2 the tomato sauce. * carrot and green pepper may be omitted

Step 3transfer to casserole dish or large loaf pan, pour remaining tomato sauce over top. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
