Ingredients

1 lbground beef
-
1 smallonion, finely chopped

1 largeegg
-
1 Tbsprubbed sage

1 tspsalt

1/4 tspblack pepper
-
8-12 oztomato sauce
-
1-11/2 cquick cooking oats
-
1carrot, finely shredded (optional)
-
1/2green pepper, finely minced (optional)
How to Make Mom's Saged Meatloaf
- Pre-heat oven to 350.
- In large bowl, thoroughly combine beef, salt, pepper, sage, onion, egg, carrot, green pepper,oats and 1/2 the tomato sauce.
* carrot and green pepper may be omitted - transfer to casserole dish or large loaf pan, pour remaining tomato sauce over top. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
