Mom's Poor Man's Grub
This recipe is versitile. I make it now and serve over salad with corn chips for a family fave.
How to Make Mom's Poor Man's Grub
- Peel and dice potatoes and fry in shortening.
Fry 1-2 pounds of hamburger; depending on how many people you are serving.
- Drain the hamburger, then add 2-3 cans of light red kidney beans, a pkg of lipton's onion soup mix and 2-3 cups of water. Simmer for 15 min- be careful it doesn't go dry.
- Serve the beans and hamburger over the potatoes for a quick and filling dinner.
- If you are on a diet, or just like to eat healthy... prepare the hamburger as above adding only half the onion soup mix and serve over a salad. My family loves it this way.
