This is a recipe that my mother-in-law has been making for many years. It is one of my husband's favorite recipes.

9" pie crust
1 lb
lean ground beef
1/4 c
onion, chopped
1/4 c
green bell pepper, chopped
small can of tomato sauce
1/2 c
dried bread crumbs, seasoned
1/2 tsp
seasoning salt
2 c
shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 c
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp
ground black pepper
1/2 tsp
dry mustard
1/2 tsp

How to Make Mom's Cheeseburger Pie


  • 1Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2Lightly bake empty pie shell, set aside.
  • 3Crumble ground beef into a large skillet. Saute over medium heat until brown and drain, then add onion, garlic and green pepper. Continue to saute until onion is clear. Mix in 1/2 c tomato sauce, bread crumbs, and seasoning salt. Spoon mixture into pastry shell.
  • 4In a medium bowl, mix together cheese, milk, worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Spread mixture over meat filling.
  • 5Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until topping is puffy and lightly browned. Allow to set for 10-15 minutes before serving.
