Mmmmm is for Mom! Sorry, this is another one of those recipes.... Cube it or strip it? Do you brown it twice? I have no clue, so use your own judgement.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless round steak
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 env. - dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup dairy sour cream (of course it's going to be in dairy - where else would it be - lol!)

How To Make *** mom's beef stroganoff ***

  • Step 1
    Cut fat from meat, cut both into cubes & brown in pot until done.
  • Step 2
    Remove fat pieces with spoon. Discard.
  • Step 3
    Cut meat into 1/4" strips 2 - 3" long.
  • Step 4
    Add 1/4 of meat to pan. Brown.
  • Step 5
    Remove & put in a bowl.
  • Step 6
    Repeat all meat, then return to fry pan.
  • Step 7
    Stir in onion soup, mushrooms with liquid.
  • Step 8
    Heat until bubbly.
  • Step 9
    Slowly stir in sour cream until blended.
  • Step 10
    Heat thru. Serve with buttered noodles & green peas.
