Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon shortening/butter
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 8 ounces can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Step 1Melt shortening. Add onion, green pepper, & celery~cook until soft and lightly browned. Set aside and cover to keep warm or Add beef and brown all together. Add remaining ingredients~simmer 10 minutes, until thickened, stirring occasionally. Spoon onto warm buns or toasted bread. *recipe can easily be doubled~ingredients adjusted more or less to suit your taste...just like gr'ma did!*
