mild hearty chili
(1 RATING)
I love Chili, but not too hot or spicy, for those that like to burn their stomach lining I leave hot pepper flakes and tobasco at hand. Whenever it is cold out, or snowing especially I get the urge to make a crock pot of my own version of chili. My kids love it, and you can freeze it for a later date.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef, or turkey
- 1 can kidney beans, canned
- 2 cans pinto beans
- 1 package mild chili mix
- 1 medium sweet onion
- 3 cloves chopped garlic
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 can diced tomato ( they come with onion and garlic too)
- 1 large can of chopped tomato
- 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
- 3-4 sprigs cilantro, fresh
- 1 jar mild salsa
How To Make mild hearty chili
-
Step 1chop the onion, and garlic and brown in the olive oil until soft.Chop the cilantro and saute for a few seconds to release the oil in the leaves.
-
Step 2Add the ground beef, or ground turkey and brown. Add 1/4 c of water, the chili seasoning mix and the jar of salsa and simmer for 15 min.
-
Step 3Stir and add the cans of tomato, kidney and pinto beans and mix together. Pour it all in a crock pot and cook on low for about two hours. You can leave it up to 4 hours but add some water to it so it does not reduce down and burn.
