I adopted this recipe because it is a good recipe for any meal. It puts me in mind of chili pie with potato crust. By using sausage in place of the ground beef and sage or oregano in place of chili powder, this can become more of a breakfast or brunch meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 - chopped onion
  • 8 ounces can tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 16 ounces package hash browns
  • 3 - tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese

How To Make mexican hash

  • Step 1
Brown ground beef and onion until onion is tender.
  • Step 2
Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, worcestershire sauce and brown sugar, simmer until thick.
  • Step 3
    Meanwhile, cook hash browns.
  • Step 4
Place in pie pan or 9x9x2 pan.
  • Step 5
Top with meat mixture, then slice tomatoes and top with cheese.
  • Step 6
Broil long enough to melt cheese.
