Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak
  • 1/2 package cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 pounds ground meat (beef, pork, turkey)
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • - cooking oil
  • 1/2 - onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 - green pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • - water
  • 1/2 cup white wine

How To Make meatballs with sauce

  • Step 1
    Grind sirloin and dice cheese into 1/4\" cubes.
  • Step 2
    Mix onion powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper, with the eggs, ground meat and sirloin.
  • Step 3
    Roll into 2-1/2 inch balls.
  • Step 4
    With a spoon make a hole in the center of each meatball, put in a cube of cheese and reclose the ball.
  • Step 5
    Roll in flour and brown.
  • Step 6
    Make roux with 2 teaspoons flour and cooking oil.
  • Step 7
    Add onions, then add green peppers.
  • Step 8
    Add tomato sauce and one can of water.
  • Step 9
    Let simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Step 10
    Add meatballs and let simmer until gravy reaches desired thickness.
  • Step 11
    Add white wine and stir.
  • Step 12
    This can be served over spaghetti or rice with a salad.
