Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 medium egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- ONION SAUCE:
- 3 cups onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup butter
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup milk
How To Make meatballs in onion sauce

Step 1Soak bread crumbs in milk.

Step 2Mix all remaining meatball ingredients except butter. Form into walnut sized meatballs.

Step 3Brown them well in the butter.

Step 4Cover and simmer 1 hour.

Step 5Sauce: Saute onions in butter until caramelized. Blend in flour and salt.

Step 6Slowly add milk and beef broth. Stir until it thickens somewhat.

Step 7Pour over meatballs and serve.
