Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 - garlic clove, minced
  • 1 - egg, lightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3/4 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons basil, crumbled
  • 1 can tomato sauce

How To Make meatballs for spaghetti

  • Step 1
    Combine the beef, bread crumbs, garlic, parsley, basil, egg and pepper.
  • Step 2
    Mix thoroughly and shape into balls 1 inch in diameter.
  • Step 3
    Melt the oil in a saucepan.
  • Step 4
    Brown the meatballs lightly on all sides; drain off the fat.
  • Step 5
    Add tomato sauce, cover, and simmer 40 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Serve over spaghetti.
