Ingredients

  • - ingredients for the meatballs
  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 1 - small, sweet onion, chopped fine
  • - ingredients for the sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup catalina salad dressing
  • 1 teaspoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 - small, sweet onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed

How To Make meatballs and sauce

  • Step 1
    Mix all meatball ingredients and form into small, meatballs (slightly larger than the diameter of a quarter. Put meatballs into preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Make the sauce. Turn meatballs and pour sauce over them. Put back in oven for 30 more minutes.
  • Step 2
    You can make these meatballs ahead of time and freeze. Then simply thaw, make sauce and cook.I usually make two batches -- eat one and freeze one for later. This recipe doubles easily.
