This is one of my family's favorite "comfort" food recipes

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 - loaf of italian bread, cut into 1" pieces
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (not light or fat free)
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 28 ounces spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

How To Make meatball sub casserole

  • Step 1
    Mix together onion, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, and beef. Shape into 1" balls; place in a shallow baking pan. Bake @ 400 for 15-20 mins.
  • Step 2
    Arrange bread in ungreased 13"x9" pan.
  • Step 3
    Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning, and pepper; spread over bread and sprinkle with 1/2 Cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • Step 4
    Combine spaghetti sauce, water, garlic, and meatballs. Pour and arrange over bread. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Step 5
    Bake uncovered @ 350 for 30 min.
