This is one of my family's favorite "comfort" food recipes

  • 1/3 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/4 c
    seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp
    grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    loaf of italian bread, cut into 1" pieces
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise (not light or fat free)
  • 1 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 2 c
    shredded mozzarella
  • 28 oz
    spaghetti sauce
  • 1 c
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced

How to Make Meatball Sub Casserole


  1. Mix together onion, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, and beef. Shape into 1" balls; place in a shallow baking pan. Bake @ 400 for 15-20 mins.
  2. Arrange bread in ungreased 13"x9" pan.
  3. Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning, and pepper; spread over bread and sprinkle with 1/2 Cup of mozzarella cheese.
  4. Combine spaghetti sauce, water, garlic, and meatballs. Pour and arrange over bread. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake uncovered @ 350 for 30 min.
