crockpot meatball stew- (an old taste treat)
Here is a good ole stew...Great to serve any time. I make a double batch and freeze...for later. This recipe is full of flavor..a real taste treat. Please enjoy.. Nancy...12/19/12

Ingredients
- - **** meatball recipe****
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 3 tablespoons a-1 sauce
- 1 - egg...beaten
- 1/4 cup soft bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh onion
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 - pepper
- - *******stew recipe******
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 3 - beef bouillon cubes, dissolved in 3 cups boiling water
- 2 tablespoons a-1 steak sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon each...ground thyme and black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 - bay leaf
- 4 large carrots, cut in 1 inch slices
- 4 medium red potatoes, cut in half
- 1 medium onion, cut in quarters and minced
- 1 package (10oz.) frozen green peas
How To Make crockpot meatball stew- (an old taste treat)

Step 1Lightly combine meatball ingredients. Form into 20-24 meatballs. In a large skillet. brown in oil. Remove meatballs. Save for later. Reserve 3 Tablespoons of meat drippimngs. Add 2-3 Tablespoons of flour,stirring constantly.. while stirring in 3 beef bouillion cubes added to 3 cups of boiling water. Add steak sauce, thyme salt and pepper. Stir constantly to make a gravy.Not to thick.

Step 2Cook prepared carrots and potatoes in a pan of water. When almost done drain and put them in a crockpot on med. Pour gravy into crockpot. Add 2 bay leaves, and minced onion. Gently mix. Cook 1/2 hour. Add frozen peas. Mix.

Step 3Add meatballs, mix gently and heat.. ... keep pot covered. When ready to eat, serve right from the crockpot. Then meatballs, stir gently. Cook another 1/2 hour to heat meatballs...add a little water if needed to gravy, stir. When ready...serve from the crockpot.
